The 26-year old LPGA campaigner struggling to a three-over card through 11 holes but somehow found her touch coming in, finding three birdies including an unlikely one at the last after being forced to take a penalty drop after her drive.

The other Philippine bet, Dottie Ardina, opened with a four-over 76 in a round marred by a double-bogey at the par-4 15th hole and a bogey at the last.

LAUREN Hoffman finished last in Heat 3 of the repechage round of the women’s 400m hurdles, ending her campaign in the 2024 Paris Olympics athletics competitions at the Stade de Paris.

Hoffman clocked 58.28 seconds to place eighth in the third and final heat, while finishing 20th among the 21 hurdlers in the repechage round.

The top two finishers in each of the three heats in the repechage advanced to the semifinals.

Yulo took the gold in style, scoring 15.000, the first time he breached that mark in this Olympics after scoring 14.766 in the qualification and 14.333 in the all-around final.

Yulo’s score is also the highest by any gymnast in the floor exercise in this Olympics.

Yulo, as expected even by him, failed to land a podium finish by placing 12th with a total score of 83.032 after six apparatuses in the first of three final events in this Games.
