THE PHILIPPINE female gymnastics trio of Levi Ruivivar, Emma Malabuyo, and Aleah Finnegan are in the outside looking in, their bid to reach the finals of the women’s artistic gymnastics looking bleak at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Ruivivar and Malabuyo both had scores of 51.099, while Finnegan had 50.498 to currently rank at 28th, 29th, and 33rd respectively at the end of Subdivision 3 in their Olympic debut.

Two more subdivisions that have about 40 more gymnasts will be held to determine the Top 24 finalists in the women’s all-around that saw Simone Biles of the scoring 59.566 to lead the way after three subdivisions.
The top eight in each of the apparatuses will also play for medals.
Only two representatives from each country are allowed to compete in the final events.
Ruivivar, a Stanford-commit, had scores of 13.600, 13.200, 11.866, and 12.433 in the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise respectively, while Malabuyo, a gymnast at University of California-Los Angeles, had 13.266, 12.500, 12.233, and 13.100 in the four apparatuses.
Finnegan registered the best score in the apparatuses by tallying 13.733 in the vault to rank No. 10 at the end of Subdivision 3 and is in line for at least a reserve slot in the final, if the position holds.
The Louisiana State University product also compiled 12.566 in the uneven bars, 11.466 in the balance beam, and 12.733 in the floor exercise.
