A MONTH AFTER his punching spree during a JRU-CSB game, John Amores is taking heart after receiving a letter from no less than the Office of the Vice President.
On social media, Amores — who has been dropped from the Jose Rizal University athletics program and hit with an indefinite ban from the NCAA — posted a photo he received from Sara Duterte’s office.
He did not reveal the full contents of the letter, but shared a snippet, which read: “Remember the lesson[,] not the mistake[.] You have a friend from the Office of the Vice President.”

The message, he said, was a balm “in the darkest season of my life[.]”
Wrote Amores of the letter, “Ipapa-frame ko to as a remembrance na sa dami ng bashers at negative critics may isang tao na ipapaalala sayo na Mahalaga ka kahit di mo kaano ano.”
On his Facebook page, Amores revealed that he is set to appear in an episode in an upcoming video from sneaker store Rock N Sole PH, along with the store’s founder Jeoff Hidalgo.
He has also been selling perfume via livestream.
