    Blacklist up against dark horse teams, ECHO faces RRQ in M4 group stage

    THE GROUP STAGES for the M4 World Championship are now finalized as the 16 teams competing in MLBB world stage have been seeded.

    The two Filipino representatives, Blacklist International and ECHO PH, will face intense competition from the get go.

    Blacklist will be in Group A, facing two teams blessed with Filipino talents.

    The Codebreakers will face Coach John Michael "Zico" Dizon's Burn X Flash squad, who recently bagged the MPL Cambodia Autumn 2022 championship. They also boast one of the up-and-coming Filipino prospects in Jhonwin "Hesa" Dela Merced Vergara.

    Besides the Cambodian representatives, Blacklist will also face Falcon Esports, who made headlines for their unexpected run in the MSC 2022. Blacklist's Coach Kristoffer "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza even expressed his admiration for the team's resilience.

    After their MSC run, the team signed up Coach Steven "Dale" Vitug, who brought the team to their M4 run.

    Finalizing Blacklist's group A opponents is Turkey's Incendio Supremacy.

    Meanwhile, ECHO PH will encounter some strong resistance in Group C. They'll be up against MPL Indonesia runner ups, RRQ Hoshi, who acquired former ECHO PH coach Michael Angelo "Arcadia" Bocado.

    Fans can look forward to the battle between two SEA junglers Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno and Albert "Alberttt" Neilsen Iskandar.

    Other rivals for the Orcas included Egypt's Occupy Thrones and MPL Singapore champions RSG SG.

    Other Filipino reps in M4

    While the two Filipino teams will be on the spotlight, other notable Filipino representatives from other teams who will be tested.

    North America's The Valley features former MPL PH player in Peter Bryce "Basic" Lozano and newcomer Chris Amiel "Mielow" Enobio. The team will be led by Michael "MobaZane" Cosgun, who was the breakout star during the M3 World Championship.

    Then there's Onic Esports, with MVP Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol and assistant coach Paul Denver "Yeb" Miranda.

    The group stages will commence on New Year all the way up to January 4, 2023 with a best-of-one format. The top two teams of each group will proceed to the upper bracket while the bottom two will advance to the lower bracket playoff rounds.
