AS mentioned in a previous article on SPIN.ph, Rain or Shine will be picking twice in the first round of the PBA Season 48 draft, as the Elasto Painters have the No. 3 and the No. 4 position, putting them in a perfect position to obtain fresh talent for their rebuilding program.

But aside from the Elasto Painters, there are two other teams which have two picks in the first round that will help them secure a chance at improving on their performance from the previous season.
Here are the two teams:

NORTHPORT
The Batang Pier will have two picks in the first round, their own pick most likely being at No. 5, based on an unofficial computation by SPIN.ph.
NorthPort missed the playoffs after finishing 10th in the Philippine Cup and 9th in the Governors’ Cup. The Batang Pier were able to reach the quarterfinals in the Commissioner’s Cup after taking the sixth spot.
NorthPort will also select one more time in the first round after getting the draft right of Barangay Ginebra from the Jamie Malonzo trade. Malonzo was traded to Ginebra last September for Arvin Tolentino, Prince Caperal, and the first round choice.
That pick though will most likely be a late first-rounder with Ginebra being the champion of the Commissioner’s Cup, and in contention for another crown in the Governors’ Cup.

TERRAFIRMA
For the third time in the last four occasions, the Dyip will pick first in the Season 48 draft. But Terrafirma will also be get to select in the first round after securing a draft right from San Miguel.
That draft right actually came from a trade involving CJ Perez where he was sent to San Miguel last February 21.
If you recall, Perez was traded to San Miguel in exchange of Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Russel Escoto, Gelo Alolino, and the Beermen’s 2020 first round pick which turned out to be James Laput serving as the original deal. But the PBA trade committee approved the trade after San Miguel added a 2022 first round pick in the deal.
Escoto and Laput, however, are now with Magnolia.
The San Miguel pick that is now with Terrafirma, however, will also be most likely a late first rounder after the Beermen’s title run in the Philippine Cup and Final Four finishes in both the Commissioner’s Cup and Governors’ Cup.
