ONE of the country’s biggest fitness chains is scheduling a phased reopening of over 51 branches in Manila, Cebu, and other areas beginning this Monday.
The reopening will take place in select branches, staggered every Monday and Thursday for the next three weeks.

It was on August 31 that Department of Trade and Industry head Mon Lopez announced that gyms in general community quarantine areas will be allowed to operate starting September 1.
The announcement was the long-awaited green light for a long-suffering gym industry — especially those located in cities hardest hit by COVID-19 — that suffered through a false start last August. Gyms in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal were given the go-ahead to reopen on August 1, but had to close again when President Duterte heeded the frontliners' call for a "medical timeout."
In branches that are already fully operational (as in Anytime Fitness Clark), the fitness chain showed off the safety procedures already in place for clients.
These include a health and safety screening (including temperature checks and health documentation forms), disinfection kits for each person, path markers to go around the facility, and a “one equipment apart” social distancing rule.
IIn its reopening announcement post that went up on Facebook today, the fitness chain asks members to check the individual Facebook pages of Anytime Fitness clubs near them for final confirmation of opening. It offered the disclaimer: “Schedule of operations is subject to change depending on LGU directives.”
