EXPECT Zion Williamson to stay explosive and quick – without having to worry about the durability of his shoe in his rookie year in the NBA.
Months after his Nike PG 2.5 was ripped apart in an NCAA rivalry game between Duke and North Carolina last February, the No. 1 overall pick in the last NBA Draft and his fellow Jordan Brand endorsers are set to unveil the Air Jordan 34, the latest innovation in Michael Jordan’s signature line.
What you need to know about Jordan 34
Removing unnecessary material from the tooling and upper, the Jordan XXXIV has turned out to be one of the lightest basketball shoes ever made by Jordan Brand, with its size 9 weighing just 13.1 ounces.

Jordan Brand designer Tate Kuerbis and his team responded to feedback from the sneaker's predecessor, the lace-less Jordan 33.
"Athletes noted a desire to improve traction and reduce weight — that became our starting point,” Kuerbis said. “We focused on athletes who are playing above the rim and making them more explosive."
What allows them to do so is through the unique feature on the shoe: the Jordan Eclipse Plate, a technology that’s found in between the midfoot and forefoot, with its position unlocking the feeling you get from the forefoot Zoom Air unit, which provides bounce and lateral support.

Williamson and fellow Jordan Brand ambassadors have raved about the latest Jordan signature shoe that sells for P8,545.
“I want a shoe that is comfortable and stylish on and off the court,” the New Orleans Pelicans forward said. “The XXXIV delivers on all of this and more.”
Team USA and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum attested to the lightness of the featured sneaker.
“It’s very important to my game that my shoes are light and secure. The Eclipse Plate in the XXXIV helps with stability so that I feel secure in the shoe, yet still explosive and light on my feet.”
Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin agreed and didn’t have to say a lot.
“The XXXIV has zero distractions and is extremely lightweight.”
Experience the lightness of MJ’s latest signature shoe as it becomes available in the country on October 10.
