ECHO AND ONIC PHILIPPINES have made major headlines for partnering with two major international esports organizations.
First is Team Liquid, who acquired AURA and ECHO. This means that the team will expound on its operations to the likes of ECHO Philippines and Aura Fire.
Then there's Fnatic who recently announced its partnership with Onic Philippines.
Given their arrival to PH soil, both ECHO and Onic will arrive to the MPL playoffs, with a different logo and banner.
What's at stake?
There have been questions as to why major esports orgs have decided to forge allegiances to PH esports club.
Recently, AP.Bren and Team Falcons announced their alliance with the intent to support each other, especially with the Esports World Cup on the horizon.
However their partnership would extend beyond the Esports World Cup as both orgs would look for ways to learn more about the esports scene of their respective regions.
Both ECHO and Onic could potentially benefit from their arrival as both Fnatic and Team Liquid are listed among the organizations that are a part of the Esports World Cup's Club Support Program.
With the Club Support Program, orgs could offer financial aid to the parties involved, something that ECHO and Onic could benefit from.
Plus they could further expound on their gaming titles beyond MLBB. Both Liquid and Fnatic have been involved with notable esports titles such as Dota 2 and Counter-Strike, with the former even bagging the coveted Dota 2 Aegis back in 2017.
