BOOM WAS COOKING as they eliminated defending champions Team Spirit.
Boom Esports continues their The International 2022 run as they shocked Team Spirit in the best-of-one elimination match.
Boom’s great team fighting and spell casting allowed them to take out the defending champs. Erin "Yopaj" Ferrer’s Mars landed great Arenas to disperse Spirits' heroes while Rolen "skem" Ong’s Disruptor ulti made sure that no saves were available for their opponents.
It was a close match from the start as Boom found pick-offs across the map, but Spirit maintained an almost 3k gold lead to stay in the game.
It would a 25th-minute team fight at the bottom lane that swung the gold lead to Boom as they took down three of Spirit’s heroes, including the carry Lifestealer and offlane Outworld Devourer. From there it would be Boom going all the way as they out-maneuvered and out-team fought Spirit.
Boom would be knocking on Spirit’s barracks by the 39th minute. There Spirit would try a last-ditch team fight, but the lead was too wide that they barely scratched Boom.
With the win, Boom moves on to the lower bracket where they face PSG.LGD in the best-of-three matchup tomorrow.
