Floyd Mayweather a great fighter, alright, but only boring, says Manny Pacquiao

MANNY Pacquiao said Floyd Mayweather is one hell of a fighter whose only flaw is a boring fighting style.

“One of the best fighters. Magaling,” said the Filipino of the American boxing star responsible for dealing him a unanimous decision loss in their 12-round megafight last week at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“Mabilis din siya. Deserve naman niya 'yung panalo niya,” he added about Mayweather, who kept his unbeaten record to 48-0 following his dominant showing against Pacquiao.

But a letdown for Pacquiao was Mayweather’s refusal to engage in toe-to-toe exchanges.

"No problem with that," Pacquiao said, except that he had hoped Mayweather was man enough to give fans the action they deserved, even for some fleeting moments, in the so-called “Fight of the Century.”

Pacquiao said he, too, employed the same tactics in some fights against bigger opponents, notably Antonio Margarito, but still slugged it out when he had to.

“Ako nakakalaban din ng malalakas, tumatakbo din ako,” admitted the Filipino boxing great, who is still recuperating from the arthroscopic surgery performed on him Thursday (Manila time) to repair a tear in the rotator cuff of his injured right shoulder.

“Pero hindi yung totally na takbo. Nakikipag-engage pa rin ako, palitan tulad 'nung laban ko kay Margarito. Lumalaban ako ng sabayan.”

Pacquiao, who has his arm on a sling after undergoing surgery on his shoulder, also kept mum about Mayweather’s decision not to grant him a rematch.
