JEROM Lastimosa shared an Instagram story on Friday afternoon indicating his forthcoming knee surgery.

“Guide me my Lord,” said Lastimosa, whose UAAP swan song came to an abrupt end after he suffered a full anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear on his left knee in his first game back against the UP Maroons.
The Gilas Pilipinas guard suffered a partial ACL tear on the same knee weeks before the season began.

Shortly after his final game with the Adamson Soaring Falcons, Lastimosa shared to SPIN.ph how he was still 'uncertain' of his recovery and career plans.
"Siguro ‘yun lang ang kinukwestyon ko ngayon sa sarili ko — kung saan ako pupunta after my recovery.
"Bahala na kung saan ako dadalhin ni Lord. Du’n ako," said Lastimosa.
With an eight to 10-month recovery period initially projected, Lastimosa plans to take a year off not only to recover but also to prepare for what lies ahead in his pro basketball career.
"Sabi naman ng doktor, eight to 10 months but gusto ko siguro buuin ko na ‘yung isang year para fully healthy na ako."
