TNT and Blackwater will revisit the Rey Nambatac trade at the end of the PBA season.
The league's trade committee torpedoed the original proposal that would have sent the Bossing's Nambatac to the Tropang Giga for Kib Montalbo and a future second-round pick.
SPIN.ph learned from sources around the league that the trade committee suggested that an additional player be added to the TNT package, which could be either Barkley Ebona or Paul Varilla.

Ebona could have been a perfect addition to the trade since he previously played for coach Jeff Cariaso when they were still at Alaska. The former Far Eastern University banger was the Aces’ No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 draft.
But the Bossing weren’t interested in having another warm body to add to the team’s loaded roster especially since the team owns the No. 2 overall pick in the coming rookie draft, a source added.
A first-round pick was then suggested to be thrown into the package instead of an additional player. Unfortunately, TNT has no first-round pick in the coming draft to give away.
Nambatac has just played a full conference for Blackwater so far after being acquired in a trade with Rain or Shine in exchange for a first-round pick. He averaged 11.09 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.3 rebounds for the Bossing in the all-Filipino conference.

Montalbo meanwhile, submitted numbers of 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 2.09 assists in the Philippine Cup.
