Howard, 38, is coming off a workout with the Golden State Warriors in the preseason after spending a season playing for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan's T1 League. The 6-10 center is now expected to be the biggest name in a star-laden cast being put together by Strong Group for the Dubai tournament set from January 19 to 28.

Last year, Strong Group, coached by Benilde's Charles Tiu and beefed up by Renaldo Balkman and Shabazz Mohammad, bowed out of the quarterfinal stage in Dubai after losing to Lebanese side Al Riyadi.
Strong is set to announce its full lineup in the coming days, although this early the names of former Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player Andray Blatche and UAAp MVP Kevin Quiambao are being floated by insiders.
