The FIVB has suspended the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) 'with immediate effect' amid what the world governing body described as serious governance concerns and alleged violations currently under investigation.
In a statement released on Friday, the FIVB Board of Administration said the suspension was imposed pursuant to Article 13.1.1 of its Disciplinary Regulations while an independent Ethics Panel continues to review alleged multiple breaches of the FIVB Code of Ethics.

The world governing body said the move came despite ongoing efforts to resolve the situation through dialogue, but deemed the suspension necessary to protect the athletes' best interests, preserve the integrity of the sport and ensure that volleyball development programs in the Philippines remain on track.
With the national federation now under suspension, the FIVB has stepped in and appointed an Ad Hoc Committee to temporarily manage the affairs of Philippine volleyball.

The committee will be headed by FIVB Executive Committee member Hila Asanuma and includes FIVB Asia Regional Officer and Empowerment Manager Mathieu Mériaux, FIVB Head of Legal and General Counsel Stephen Bock, FIVB Head of Empowerment and National Federation Relations Hitesh Malhotra and Philippine-based legal contractor Alexa Dabao.
According to the FIVB, the committee's immediate focus will be ensuring that Philippine national players remain eligible and supported for upcoming international competitions while also guaranteeing the successful staging of the Women's Volleyball Nations League stop in the country in June.
The governing body also revealed that a pathway has already been laid out for the eventual reinstatement of the PNVF once the necessary requirements are met.
For now, Philippine volleyball will temporarily fall under FIVB supervision as the organization seeks to stabilize operations while investigations continue.
"The FIVB remains fully committed to protecting the integrity of Philippine volleyball at all levels and supporting its sustainable long-term growth," the governing body said.
