SHEENA Toring stepped into the Big Dome for the first time in nine months since National University's UAAP Season 85 title-series opener to La Salle, which they eventually lost.
Toring's loss was made worse by a left knee injury she sustained in the latter moments of the fifth set, which prevented her from competing in the remaining games of the Finals.

It has been almost a year since Toring put that night's demons to rest and is prepared to begin the Lady Bulldogs' title reclamation campaign anew.
"Last year na kasi yung [injury na 'yun] so sa'kin, wala na 'yung nangyari naka-move on na ko. Of course, 'yung injury ko na 'yun, lesson ko na 'yun [na] kailangang kondisyon talaga [ako] every game," said Toring.
"'Yung ngayong [game] against [Adamson], gusto lang namin bumawi kasi these past few days, pangit laro namin."
Finding her place
As Toring looks to slot back into the squad after a shaky start to the season, the Lady Bulldogs' ace blocker shared what returning head coach Norman Miguel reminded her.
"Sabi ni coach Norman [Miguel], if merong skills na wala ka, bumawi ka sa ibang department. 'Yung nangyari kanina, sabi niya kaninang first set, wala siyang palo (Alyssa Solomon) so bumawi siya sa service-receive.
