THERE is growing optimism in the NU Lady Bulldogs camp that Sheena Toring's leg injury in their five-set loss to La Salle isn't serious enough to keep her from playing for the rest of the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball finals.

Toring recalled the incident late in the fifth-set tiebreak where she landed awkwardly after stepping on the foot of La Salle blocker Thea Gagate in a battle at the net.
"Naapakan ko po si Thea [Gagate]. Doon ko naramdaman iyong paa niya. Bigla na lang may pumitik from ankle to [left] knee," said Toring.
NU's athletic trainer Dwight Demayo shared the prognosis of the Lady Bulldog's injury.
"So far intact naman, [maayos] naman," Demayo said. "So ngayon, depende kung gaano kabilis iyong response sa rehab. Pero so far, okay naman siya. Nothing serious naman."
For the middle blocker, she'll be looking to set aside the high-riding emotions of their defeat and immediately focus on recovering in a week's time for Game Two.
Toring, at least, has a full week to recover with Game Two of the best-of-three finals set on Sunday at the MOA Arena.

"Disappointed syempre ... pero move on na lang siguro. Wala na akong time mag-emote [dahil] patapos na itong season," Toring bared.
"For sure, [gusto ko makabalik] ... kasi iyong game [kanina] parang dikitan iyong labanan so may chance pa rin kami manalo for Game Two," she added.
