AFTER days of silence and speculation, a clearer picture emerged on what really happened to reigning UAAP women's volleyball MVP Angel Canino.
La Salle's scoring juggernaut set foot on the SM Mall of Asia Arena floor on Thursday afternoon with her right arm casted and in a sling, marking the end of her streak of 24 games played since her championship-laden rookie year in Season 85.

Contrasting accounts of Canino's right arm injury have surfaced online, some of them grim with broken glass from windows thrown into the speculations.
La Salle's silence didn't help, with deputy coach Noel Orcullo only saying that Canino suffered an "accidental cut in her right arm' and little else.
The television coverage only said the injury was not 'volleyball-related.'

However, multiple unimpeachable sources told SPIN.ph the La Salle hotshot was hurt during the Lady Spikers' practice session on Monday which happened to be their first since the Holy Week break.
Canino suffered a cut on her right forearm and was taken to a nearby hospital for stitches and further evaluation.
As a matter of precaution, the Lady Spikers deemed it best for the league MVP to sit out their match against the University of the Philippines, which the defending champions won in four sets.
MVP'S SEASON OVER?
For La Salle's legion of supporters, concern is understandable with the Lady Spikers only left with fifive games to play in the second round of prelims play in a heated battle with National University and University of Santo Tomas for the two twice-to-beat spots in the Final Four.
But one source bared that contrary to speculations, Canino is not lost for Season 86.
Canino's cut in her right arm is 'not serious,' as per SPIN.ph's sources, and a return to action at a later stage of the season is expected.
