TINA Salak will set foot in the Philippine volleyball scene once again as an assistant coach for the Akari Chargers.

One of the greatest setters of her generation, the Far Eastern University legend will join the staff of newly-appointed interim head coach Raffy Mosuela in the Chargers' campaign in the Premier Volleyball League's season-opening conference.

"She's back! Welcome to the Akari Chargers, Assistant Coach Tina Salak! We have seen how she has elevated her teams in the past, which is why we are thrilled to see how she will contribute to the growth of our players this season. We are delighted to have you on our squad, Coach Tina," the club wrote Wednesday morning.

Salak is no stranger to PVL competition after coming out of retirement at 44 years old in 2021 to join Chery Tiggo as a playing assistant in the club's title-winning campaign.
A year later in UAAP Season 84, the 1995 MVP took over the reins of the team she once called home — the FEU Lady Tamaraws — which she led to a 6-8 (win-loss) card after a lackluster one-win campaign in the season prior.
Salak's championship pedigree further strengthens Akari's offseason haul following the big-name additions of MVP-caliber aces Grethcel Soltones and Ced Domingo.
