TIN Tiamzon is back in the Philippine pro volleyball scene after a two-year hiatus to join Cignal for the 2025 PVL season.

La Salle’s former ace outside hitter stepped away from the sporting limelight in 2023 to be with her family in British Columbia in Canada.

Her first tour of duty back will be donning a new shade of red in the pros after a fruitful seven-year stint with the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers since 2015 under champion mentor Ramil de Jesus.

A three-time UAAP champion herself, the Fil-Canadian ace considers her new lease on life in volleyball as a chance to tie loose ends after an abrupt pause to her career.

"I'm just really excited to be back and play the sport I love again. I realized I won’t be as young as I am now,” the 27-year-old winger said.

“I feel like when I last played here, I didn’t reach my full potential. I think I still have a chance to do so and I don’t want to look back at my career and be filled with what ifs.”

Tiamzon’s return raises the total number of ex-La Salle stars in the PVL to 32, with at least one in each of the 12 teams.

In Cignal, she will be reunited with a fellow UAAP champion and one of her longtime college and club teammates in HD Spikers libero-slash-captain Dawn Macandilli-Catindig.

It’s a green-and-white reunion, both with her new skipper and the rest of the Lady Spikers contingent in the PVL, which Tiamzon will eagerly await.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing my former teammates and how we fare up against those teams. I’m excited to see their growth as players here in the PVL and the league too as a whole,” Tiamzon said.

Such a veteran duo in Tiamzon and Catindig is a huge boost to a young and undermanned Cignal side, which will now have 13 total players and four spikers for the time being following the departures of the likes of Ces Molina, Riri Meneses and Jov Fernandez.

“Sana with Tin on board, matulungan nya yung mga younger players namin. Since her days in La Salle, dami niyang experience in big games, championship games and sana madala niya dito yun,” said Cignal head coach Shaq delos Santos.

“Looking forward kami to see ano pa yung mabibigay nya samin since bata pa naman sya and marami siyang macocontribute samin sa laro niya.”
