CIGNAL’s already-depleted PVL roster is down to 12.
The HD Spikers lost another key cog in 24-year-old opposite winger Jov Fernandez.
A former UAAP best opposite hitter, Fernandez traded her FEU green-and-gold to Cignal red at the conclusion of her breakthrough Season 85 campaign.
She’d join the HD Spikers just before the 2024 PVL season and suited up for four conferences.
Within that stretch, Fernandez played part in two podium finishes capped by a finals appearance in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference where Cignal failed to foil Creamline’s Grand Slam run in a five-set winner-take-all thriller.

The FEU standout experienced highs and lows with the HD Spikers, securing two medals and two playoff no-shows in her stretch with the HD Spikers.
Fernandez' first Cignal stint was a sixth-place run in the 2024 All-Filipino tilt and ended with a ninth-place finish in the recently concluded 2024-25 All-Filipino play where they fell short of getting past the play-ins.
Her exit now marks the third key departure for Cignal following the mid-conference exits of star duo Ces Molina and Riri Meneses.
While Fernandez is reportedly near to signing for a new PVL team, the HD Spikers are now on the hunt to fill in a handful of gaps on offense.
As it stands, Cignal has three spikers left in its 12-woman roster in Vanie Gandler, rookie Ishie Lalongisip and Judith Abil.
