As rumors swirl around his impending departure, the head coach of this PVL team continues to handle the training, plot its draft strategy and is asked to stay on until the end of the 2025 season.
All this work undertaken by this coach and still SPIN.ph has learned that the said team is seriously exploring shaking up its coaching staff by firing him and appointing one of its deputies as his replacement. The team is reportedly also considering the option of hiring an outsider.

While nothing is set in stone, this up-and-coming team looks to reach a decision before the PVL Draft in June.
The closing stretch of the league’s 2025 season is expected to take place after the country’s hosting of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in September.
Ateneo Blue Eagles to miss out on Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup
ATENEO is likely to be the lone UAAP team to miss the premier pre-season league this year.
Sources said the Blue Eagles are not listed in the roster of the 18th Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup which will tip off on May 18 because of their pre-UAAP preparations.
The team is scheduled to go to Spain for a two-week training camp where they hope to strengthen camaraderie, build confidence and sharpen its game for Season 88.
Observers said the camp may be what the doctor ordered. The Eagles have lost their mojo in recent years and last season was one of the worst for the squad which posted a 4-10 record, failing again to advance to the Final Four, a situation which coach Tab Baldwin and the Katipunan community surely find unacceptable.
The Blue Eagles are hoping for better returns as they once again rely on incoming sophomores Jared Bahay and Kristian Porter.
Ateneo is also high on its new recruits, with Fil-Am forward Kymani Ladi and 6-foot-10 big man Divine Adili leading the charge.
Save for Ateneo, all of the UAAP and NCAA teams are expected to participate in the long running pre-season league bankrolled by Filoil CEO Raffy Villavicencio.
