WITH the signings of Kim Dy, Majoy Baron, and Kim Fajardo to the PLDT High Speed Hitters, a mini-reunion of La Salle's UAAP Season 78 champion squad with Mika Reyes is in the offing for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.
However, this sought-after joining of forces in the pro ranks may have to wait just a bit longer.

Reyes is set to undergo shoulder surgery for the second time in the span of a year and is expected to be out of action for months, multiple sources confirmed to SPIN.ph.

Sources ruled out Reyes for the opening conference of the coming season, making Baron's signing timely for the High Speed Hitters.
With Reyes likely out, Baron is set to slot into PLDT's middle blocker core alongside Dell Palomata, Rachel Austero, Lut Malaluan, and Jessey De Leon.
Another High Speed Hitter who is in the midst of a lengthy injury layoff is Jovy Prado, whose attacking exploits have been missing since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear on her left knee in last year's Invitational Conference.
In the meantime, Baron & Co. looks to score PLDT's first-ever podium finish after seven conferences when the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference goes underway on February 17.
