No surgery needed for Alyssa Valdez knee injury

CREAMLINE star Alyssa Valdez will not undergo any surgery for the right knee which she injured during Game Two of the PVL Reinforced Conference battle for bronze against Chery Tiggo on Thursday afternoon.

An MRI done on the knee showed no major damage to require surgery.

The former Ateneo standout will only need rehabilitation and several weeks of rest as per the doctors' advice, Creamline said in a statement.

Although no official diagnosis was given, the management assured fans that Valdez will be given the "best possible care and treatment for her to come back stronger in due time."

After saving a ball in the third set of the match against Chery Tiggo, Valdez banged her right knee and was grimacing in pain as she was taken out of the court.

She ws taken to the hospital for an MRI procedure and was no longer around to receive her Best Open Spiker award. Her teammate Ella De Jesus received the award on her behalf.
