The Japan V.League Division 3 team held its ground in a virtual dogfight against the crowd favorites before hostile fans, coming back from 12-13 down in the fifth set to become the conference's first foreign champion.
The Ablaze finished the semifinals with a perfect record but had to battle for every single point against the Cool Smashers, who took a 13-12 lead and looked on course to a championship repeat.
The foreign team scored the game's last three points, the game ending in anti-climactic fashion when Asaka Tamaru's serve was misjudged by Creamline's receivers landed on the line for an ace.
After a video review confirmed the ace, Kurashiki players celebrated on the court to cap a perfect season.
