CARL Tamayo’s career night in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) ended in heartbreak as Changwon LG Sakers bowed to the Seoul Samsung Thunders, 92-88, on Thursday at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.
The UP Maroons product fired 37 points on a perfect 15-of-15 shooting from inside the arc, to go with seven rebounds and three assists. But his yeoman's effort couldn't save the Sakers from losing for the third time in their last four games.

Tamayo cut the deficit to four points on his jumper with six seconds left and Justin Gutang's missed free throws kept Changwon's hopes alive. But Jeong In Deok failed in his bid for complete a four-point play as the Sakers fell to 14-13.
Gutang picked up 15 points, six boards, three assists, and one block for Seoul, which rose to 9-17.
Meanwhile, Goyang Sono Skygunners, still awaiting the arrival of back-to-back UAAP MVP Kevin Quiambao, slumped to their third straight loss - and fifth in their last six - after a 93-68 rout at the hands of Busan KCC Egis.
Goyang Sono now carries a 9-18 slate for the season.
