UAAP champion. Two-time UAAP silver medalist. PVL champion. Loyalty award. Cum laude. All in a day’s work for Alleliah Malaluan.
For the 5-foot-10 outside hitter, college wasn’t just about textbooks - it was a proving ground.

As she prepares to graduate from De La Salle University with a degree in AB Psychology, she leaves a legacy of discipline and achievement, balancing academics and elite volleyball competition with ease.
Her athletic record is impressive: UAAP champion, two-time silver medalist and a PVL champion, accomplishments that testify to her resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
“It’s tough,” Malaluan told SPIN.ph.
“Managing academics and volleyball is no joke. But earning these recognitions throughout my college years really kept me motivated. I survived the hardships, and that became my fuel.”

The 2025 PVL ninth overall pick deliberately chose a program she could manage alongside varsity commitments.
“I’m not the type of student-athlete who wants to skip classes, responsibility is key," she said.
"My mom always reminded me that I need to manage both school and volleyball, and I took that to heart.”
Malaluan’s psychology studies gave her more than grades as it sharpened her mental approach to competition.
“Studying psychology helps me mentally. I become aware of my triggers and the moments I need to reset. It makes sure I’m okay both inside and outside the court,” she explains.
That self-awareness now fuels her confidence as a professional athlete and she encourages the next generation to stay steady and disciplined.
“Stay patient. Work hard. Take it one day at a time. Don’t rush when things get stressful, you’ll get through it,” Malaluan advised.
From collegiate podium finishes to a professional championship, Malaluan proves that excellence isn’t about luck - it’s about dedication, perseverance, and the courage to balance multiple passions.
As she continues her professional volleyball career, the confidence built through years of balancing academics and athletics will continue to drive her toward new milestones, on and off the court.
