Nxled has landed two more major pieces from the fallout of Cignal’s leave of absence.
The Chameleons unveiled veteran setter Gel Cayuna and middle blocker Jackie Acuña as their newest acquisitions on Saturday, making the duo the latest former Super Spikers to secure new homes following the exit of one of the PVL’s longtime contenders.
Cayuna and Acuña became the third and fourth ex-Cignal players to finalize transfers after former league MVPs Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos earlier moved to Capital1.
For Nxled, the additions bring in two of the more decorated and sought-after names suddenly made available in the market.
Cayuna arrives as one of the most accomplished playmakers, carrying five Best Setter awards to her name, including the nod most recently captured in the 2026 All-Filipino Conference.

Acuña, meanwhile, continues to establish herself as one of the league’s emerging net presences, with the 2024 Invitational Conference Best Middle Blocker award under her belt.
Cignal's clear connection
Interestingly enough, both players share similar journeys.
Before becoming established names in the professional ranks, Cayuna and Acuña entered the league as relatively unheralded collegiate talents from Far Eastern University and National U, respectively, before gradually developing into two of the market’s most coveted free agents.
Now, they join a Chameleons side already loaded with a Petro Gazz-heavy core bannered by three-time MVP Brooke Van Sickle alongside fellow former Angels stars Myla Pablo and MJ Phillips under the tutelage of Italian mentor Ettore Guidetti.
These latest signings also continue the rapid reshaping of the PVL landscape following Cignal’s unexpected exit, with several former Super Spikers now quickly finding their way onto new teams across the league.
