Gel Cayuna scored six points to go with 30 excellent sets for the HD Spikers, who imposed their will in the third and four sets to clinch the franchise's third third-place finish in the country's pro volleyball league.
“Nakuha namin [ang bronze], sobrang happy kasi ginusto namin to lahat. Para sa amin, napaka-importante nito kaya tatanggapin namin ng buong puso,” Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos said.
The HD Spikers started strong thanks to Rachel Anne Daquis taking control early to stake the team to a 20-13 lead.
The Cargo Movers, however, came alive in the second set, catching the HD Spikers at 20-all before a 4-1 finishing kick brought the game back to square one.
Regaining momentum, Cignal took a four-point advantage late in the third, 23-19, before going up 2-1 on an F2 error and Rose Doria’s hit on set point.
