HOPING for better luck and form, Alex Eala goes to Hong Kong as one of the highly awaited participants at the 2025 Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open.
Coming off a semifinal exit in doubles play at the Guangzhou Open, the Filipina will kick off her Hong Kong campaign alongside Taiwanese partner Chan Hao-ching on Monday afternoon.
The pair faces Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kamilla Rakhimova in the opening round of 16 at 4:20 p.m.
Eala singles debut
In singles action, Eala is set to meet Katie Boulter (No. 63) in their tournament debut in the round of 32.
This is scheduled for Tuesday, Manila time, with time still to be determined.
Eala looks to shake off a string of early exits after a promising stretch that saw her capture her maiden WTA title at the 125 Guadalajara Open in September.

Despite the slump, the 20-year-old notched a career-high world ranking of No. 51 earlier in the day.
Hong Kong marks her sixth stop in the Asian swing, following stints in Jingshan, Suzhou, the Wuhan qualifiers, Kinoshita Japan Open, and Guangzhou.
