ALEX Eala’s WTA 250 Guangzhou campaign came to a tough close, as she and partner Nadiia Kichenok fell in the WTA 250 doubles semifinals to Janice Tjen and Katarzyna Piter, 7–6(4), 3–6, 5–10 on Friday afternoon.
After a gritty first-set win, the pair couldn’t hold off their opponents’ surge, bowing out in the super tiebreak.

The loss came on the heels of Eala’s earlier singles exit, marking the end of her stint in Guangzhou.
