PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — Gilas Women 3x3 suffered a 21-19 loss to Vietnam at the start of the basketball competitions of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games on Saturday at the Morodok Techo National Stadium Elephant Hall 2.
The Vietnamese cagers stunned the Filipina cagers with a two-pointer in the extra period to take the victory.

The deuce was made by Ngoan Thi Huynh following a missed lay-up by Afril Bernardino to repeat their win against Gilas Women 3x3 during the Hanoi SEA Games. Huynh had eight points in the contest.
Gilas still has a shot at advancing to the finals as it faces Laos and defending champion Thailand in Group A.
The loss also spoiled the efforts of Mikka Cacho, who had eight points. Jack Animam and Janine Pontejos had five points apiece, while Bernardino had one.
