ROGER Pogoy has ruled himself out not just for the entire PBA Governors’ Cup finals but also for consideration for Gilas Pilipinas in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball competition.
Pogoy confirmed that he suffered a fractured pinkie in his right hand during Game Three of the finals last Friday.
“Bukas magpapatingin kami sa hand specialist. Tignan kung dito o sa abroad magsusurgery,” said Pogoy.
The TNT cager said the recovery period could be lengthy and he doesn’t expect to be healed in time for next month’s SEA Games where he is part of the pool.

Pogoy got injured when he tried to poke the ball away from Christian Standhardinger, never realizing that he had already broken his finger.
He even played through the injury in the second half, but he was already in pain.
Although there is still no timetable for the injury, Pogoy’s teammate Calvin Oftana hinted during the postgame press conference that he could be out for at least two months since he had a similar injury before when he was still playing for NLEX.
“Parang sa akin,” said Oftana.
Pogoy said he felt bad that will no longer play for the entire finals series.
“Sobrang bigat. Gustong gusto ko pa naman maglaro. Kita ko pa naman ‘yung crowd. Ang sarap maglaro. Disgrasya talaga ‘yung pagsundot ko kay Christian,” said Pogoy.
