Gilas is coming off a blowout 100-32 win over Cambodia to improve its record to 2-0, heading into the Singapore game.
Shortly after the win, Gilas Pilipinas led by head coach Chot Reyes scouted Singapore, which lost by three points to host Vietnam, 86-83.
“Hard to gauge because the level of competition, I don’t think the defense and the size of Cambodia, obviously, is not at the level of Thailand and the other teams. So I’d like to reserve my comment on that expect that that is our objective. Part of the struggle with Thailand was part of our growth process as a team and as individuals,” said Reyes.
“Going through adversity and going through struggles like that is a big step towards developing and growing as a team,” Reyes said.
Francis ‘LeBron’ Lopez had a big night for Gilas against Cambodia with 17 points in the win.
