ALFIE Cabanog and Kenneth Tapia showed the way as the Philippines defeated Indonesia, 15-10, in men’s 3x3 wheelchair basketball in the 11th Asean Para Games on Saturday at the GOR Sritex Arena in Surakarta.

Cabanog scored eight, while Tapia added seven points for the Philippines.

With the game tied at nine, Cabanog and Tapia sparked a 6-1 run and the Philippines held on.

The Philippine women’s team, however, made an early exit with a 0-11 loss to Thailand and 1-6 defeat to Laos.

    Thailand routed Cambodia, 16-4, and Indonesia, 18-2, to seize the top spot in men’s play, advancing to the gold medal match.

    The Filipinos next take Thailand and Cambodia.
