CARLO Biado nipped Wiktor Zielinski of Poland, 11-10, to move into the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Games men’s 9-ball tournament in Birmingham, Alabama.

Biado won the final two racks to steal the match from Zielinski and progress to the next round against top-seed Albin Ouschan of Austria, who won over Aden Carl Joseph of South Africa.

The 10-ball champion in the Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam is one of two billiards players from the Philippines who are entered in the World Games, a multisports competition comprised of events who are not part of the Olympics.

Rubilen Amit is the other Philippine entry.

Ranked second in the tournament, Amit, winner of two events in the Hanoi SEA Games, will take on Pia Filler of Germany to start off her campaign.
