BASKETBALL’s biggest showpiece is just three days away from landing on Philippine soil for the very first time in the 2023 Fiba World Cup.

Apart from the world’s brightest hoops stars taking flight in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, all eyes will be on Gilas Pilipinas’ as it looks to pull off a surprise or two in its home court in the quadrennial meet.
From witnessing the games live, at home, or at watch parties anew, a handful of viewing options are available for fans throughout the duration of the tournament.
Here’s how you can watch the World Cup games and be at the heart of all the action live and on-demand.
Free TV
Select local broadcasters in the Philippines are set to air Gilas and the rest of the tournament’s matches live from Aug. 25 to Sep. 10.

Among free TV options for Filipinos in the country are TV5, One Sports, and One Sports+.
State broadcaster PTV-4 will also air all Gilas matches on free TV in partnership with Cignal.
“Meron kaming niluluto ng kaunti for Gilas Pilipnas games to be actually seen on PTV4. We were graciously allowed by our partners from FIBA to air it para mas marami ang makakapanood,” Cignal TV content head of sports Sienna Olaso said.

All Gilas games in the preliminary group phase will tip off at 8 p.m. local time, including Dominican Republic (Aug. 25), Angola (Aug. 27), Italy (Aug. 29).
As many as eight to nine Gilas games will be aired on free-to-air television.
Live and on-demand streaming
For Smart users, all Fiba World Cup games may be streamed live on the telco’s Smart Livestream app for free. Users must be connected to Smart mobile data, TNT or PLDT WiFi while using the said app.
The network also offers a special Gilas Power 399 promo, which comes with 48 GB for all sites and apps and up to 30 GB access to World Cup live streams.
Moreover, the Pilipinas Live app will also air every game all-tournament long live and on-demand upon signing up to the said service.
This also applies with PBA Rush, the local league’s official streaming platform, as it will similarly stream the tournament’s games.

Fiba’s streaming partner Courtside 1891 offers both live and on-demand options to watch all World Cup matches.
Various subscription bundles and packages may be accessed through its official site.
Pay-per-view
All World Cup matches may also be accessed via pay-per-view on either Cignal or SatLite.

For P650, fans can watch the games commercial-free and in high definition.
Exclusive Fiba shows throughout the tournament will also be made available to subscribers.
