UNDER Armour is out to challenge established brands as it launched its UA Run Crew and introduced its brand ambassadors for running and active lifestyle at the Kerry Sports Gym on Wednesday.
Present at the event were the distaff brand ambassadors: fitness coach Toni Saret, Zoe Pond-McPherson, Doray Elis of the Girls Run for Breakfast group and UA Affiliate trainer Kat Geronimo-Garcia. Together, they led the media attendees in a short workout as a taste of their fitness regimen.
The UA Run Crew also offers a tailor-made program for active lifestyle enthusiasts and aspiring runners via a step-by-step guide to reaching running objectives.
To prove that running need not be complicated, the UA Run Crew will lead community runs every Saturday that would be accompanied by seminars led by fitness experts who will talk about warm-up exercises, injury prevention, race day nutrition, among other topics.
Coinciding with the launch is the release of the brand’s flagship running shoe, the Charged Bandit 2. Actor and MMA enthusiast JC de Vera and swimmer Johan Aguilar shared their insights on the shoe’s qualities and adaptability in their training.
Aside from the Run Crew, Under Armour will also introduce its UA Record and MapMyRun digital apps that would assist runners by tracking and monitoring via their mobile devices.
A larger running event to be led by the UA Run Crew and featuring Piolo Pascual is scheduled for Oct. 1 at the Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater.
