NEWLY-appointed Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richard "Dickie" Bachmann said he intends to head the government sports agency with the values he learned from the Alaska culture in the PBA.
Bachmann said he looks forward to leading the PSC with the principles that the Alaska ballclub stood for during its time in the PBA.

Bachmann served the Aces organization as a player, assistant coach, team manager, and, most recently, team governor before the franchise was sold to Converge.
After his brief stay with the FiberXers as assistant team manager, Bachmann became chairman of the PBA 3x3, UAAP basketball commissioner, and a member of a working group for the country's hosting of the Fiba Basketball World Cup.
Bachmann, who was also a member of the 1996 grand slam team, said he is gladdened by the support he has received since his appointment, including from Alaska team owner Wilfred Uytengsu, who he considers a mentor.
"I am also grateful for the continued support of the PBA community, SBP organization, and my mentor, Wilfred Steven Uytengsu. I bring with me nearly three decades of experience in organized sports, as well as the Alaska Aces philosophy I have learned and valued over the years, which is to win with integrity while helping our athletes to become better individuals off the court," said Bachmann.

Bachmann reported to the PSC office for the first time on Wednesday, the same day he took his oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin to formally take over as chairman replacing Noli Eala.
The 12th chairman of the PSC also conducted an ocular inspection inside the facilities of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
"I am deeply humbled to have the opportunity to serve our Philippine athletes in this capacity. I look forward to working with the NSAs, together with our PSC team members and Commissioners, in order to help our athletes prepare for this year's sporting events," said Bachmann.
