The Filipina gymnast posted an Instagram Story of a photo where she revealed that she is headed to Manila to meet President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
“Heading to Manila to meet the President,” wrote Ruivivar. “What an honor. Thank you to the President and his office for making this dream come true. Can’t wait to see everyone.”

Days ago, Ruivivar admitted she was “really hurt” for not being invited to take part in the welcome festivities for the Paris Olympians that included an audience with Marcos Jr. shortly after their arrival in Manila.
Ruivivar said she was informed the events in Manila were exclusive for medalists Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas, as per her conversation with Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion - a screenshot of which she posted on her Instagram account.
Ruivivar said she has no commitments before heading to Stanford University in September, meaning she would have been free to attend the festivities after the Olympics, including a parade in Manila, had she been given the chance.
Details of Ruivivar’s meeting with Marcos Jr. have not been revealed but a source confirmed to SPIN.ph that an event is being prepared for the other Olympians who didn’t make it during the first visit at Malacanang.
During the first visit, the non-medalists of Team Philippines were handed P1 million each as cash incentives for qualifying in the Paris Olympics.
The 18-year-old Ruivivar finished 40th in the women's all-around qualifications during the Paris Olympics.
