LEVI Jung-Ruivivar said she was “really hurt” that she was unable to take part in the heroes’ welcome given to Team Philippines after the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Filipina gymnast took to Instagram to explain her absence from the festivities, saying that she heard of an event that will take place in Manila after the Olympics.

Ruivivar said she asked Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion about the event through WhatsApp, but Carrion said the events were only for medalists Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas.
Ruivivar posted a screenshot of her conversation with Carrion.
“I was really hurt considering this was a once in a lifetime opportunity I missed out on,” Ruivivar wrote.

The two other female gymnasts who competed in Paris, Aleah Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo, said they, too, were not invited to the heroes' welcome.
Finnegan and Malabuyo, however, are currently in Manila with Finnegan even taking part in the PBA Season 49 opening ceremony as muse of the Meralco Bolts.
Finnegan and Malabuyo are reportedly taking part in a courtesy call at the Senate on Monday.
Ruivivar said she would have wanted to come and be part of the events especially since she has no commitments until September where she will head to Stanford for college.
“I wanted to be part of the celebration with my fellow Olympians and to share in the excitement of the success of this Olympics with my country, the Philippines.”
