DESPITE a very brief stint as chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, Noli Eala said he is proud of the work he accomplished at the PSC doing his best to improve the plight of the Filipino athletes.
In a statement posted on his official Twitter account on Wednesday, Eala confirmed he is leaving the PSC after just four months since his appointment - easily the shortest term by any head of the government agency.

The former PBA commissioner made it clear he respected the decision of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to make the change, thanking him for giving him a chance to work to improve sports in the country.
“My brief stint in the PSC gave me an opportunity to once again serve with passion in a field I hold close to my heart,” said Eala.
“With all humility, I can say that I gave dignity and respect to the position of Chairman and worked tirelessly for Philippine Sports,” he added.
Eala was replaced by Ricard ‘Dickie’ Bachmann with the appointment papers already reaching the PSC office on Wednesday.
Aside from the President, Eala also thanked the sports leaders for their support to his administration.
“I wish to thank President Bongbong Marcos for affording me the chance to help Philippine Sports rise to greater heights. I serve at the pleasure of the president and I fully respect his decision. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our sports leaders who gave their unwavering support.
“I wish the new chairman of the PSC all the best. As I leave, I am at peace knowing that the months I served, I cared for all our athletes and Philippine Sports like no other,” said Eala.
