Civilians to storm sands of Marines training base for Karera Lakas Pilipinas

Nov 5, 2013

DIGITAL jungle camouflage and combat boots give way to colorful spandex running gear and trail runners for the Cobra Karera Lakas Pilipinas Commandant’s Cup this Sunday in Ternate, Cavite.

At least 120 men and women will storm the sands of the Gen. Gregorio Lim Marine Base in a unique adventure race based on actual Philippine Marine Corps training.

Karera Lakas Pilipinas provides civilians with a first-hand experience on how Marines train and also replicates Spartan Race in the US and Europe’s Tough Mudder.

The Bagsik covers 10-kilometers while the Astig is a 5K run and integrated with a challenging military obstacle course. The Bayani category is for participants from the military.

The registration fee also covers a Lakas Pilipinas t-shirt; a beach party at the Cavite de Boracay resort; 10 sessions of free access to Fleet Marine’s Fitness Part at Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown in Taguig City and a special dog tag.

The proceeds of the obstacle runs will go to the repair of the Warrior’s Grill Obstacle Course and the Corps’ recovery and reintegration program for Marines injured in the line of duty.

The event is supported by R.O.X., RUNNR, Toby’s, Residencia Boracay, Rudy Project, Merrell, Finix Corp, Absolute Fitness, Olive Juice Concepts, PaymentPassage, Goofy Foot Media and SJF.
