THE camp of Angelica Poquiz Yulo on Monday said critical statements against her son and two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo that have been surfacing online and attributed to her are all fake.
Lawyer Raymond Fortun said his client has already sought assistance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for the filing of charges against individuals that he said have been spreading misinformation against her.
As news about the feud between the Yulo matriarch and his son became public on Sunday, fake Angelica Yulo accounts musroomed on Facebook with posts maligning not only the gymnast but also his girlfriend Chloe San Jose.

Contrary to the posers' posts, Fortun said Angelica is proud of her son's accomplishments at the Paris Olympics, where he won two gymnastics gold medals in the floor exercise and vault finals.
“Mrs. Yulo and her family wish to assure the public that they share in the jubilation of the entire nation in the achievements of Carlos Edriel and look forward to welcoming him home,” said Fortun.
“I hereby quote her own words: ‘Good for him kasi eto na ung pinapangarap nya at eto na ung pinakahihintay nya at nag paid off lahat ng paghihirap niya.’,” said Fortun, quoting Angelica.
Fortun also warned the public against re-sharing the fake posts.
“The public is hereby informed that ALL statements made attributed to Mrs. Yulo and/or any of her children that are critical of, disparaging or tend to tarnish the accomplishments of her son, Carlos Edriel Yulo, are untrue, fake, and mere products of imagination and fantasy by heretofore unknown individuals,” Fortun’s statement read.

“Mrs. Yulo will be seeking the help of the National Bureau of Investigation in identifying these individuals, and will be filing the appropriate charges against them for violation of RA 10175 (Anti-Cybercrime Law).”
“The public is hereby reminded that the sharing of these fake posts, as well as harsh and libelous comments made in said posts, are also actionable under the Anti-Cybercrime Law. It is advisable that the public DELETE their comments to avoid prosecution,” the statement added.
