A SEETHING feud between Carlos Yulo's mother and girlfriend has become very public.
Less than a day after the Filipino gymnast's historic gold medal at the Paris Olympics, Angelica Poquiz Yulo went public to blame his son's girlfriend, Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose, for his strained relationship with the rest of the family.
The family feud had become fodder for rumors on social media in the wake of the 24-year old's victory in Paris as netizens noticed the matriarch's seeming nonchalance over his son's accomplishment in her Facebook page.

The mother of Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo admitted she and her son have not been seeing eye-to-eye because he had chosen to side with his girlfriend in an incident that happened in Tokyo sometime ago.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo Philippines, Angelica said: “Ang naging mitsa lang naman ever since is ‘yung babae talaga.”
Angelica went on to recount an incident during Yulo’s training camp in Japan where his brother Eldrew and national player Miguel Besana were about to join Yulo in his dorm. At the time, the Australia-based San Jose had joined the gymnast in Japan.
However, Angelica said the plan no longer pushed through because they deemed the sleeping arrangement improper since Eldrew and Besana are minors.
“Patutulugin ko ‘yung anak ko, menor de edad, kasama siya at ‘yung babae? Pangalawa, si Miguel, hindi rin siya papayagan ng parent niya,” said Angelica.
Angelica also claimed that Munehiro Kugimiya, Yulo’s former coach, was also against such arrangement since persons who are not involved in training are not allowed in the athletes' quarters.
“Pagdating pala doon, ang sabi ni coach Mune, dapat pagdating ni Eldrew at ‘yung teammate niya, wala doon sa bahay niya na binabayaran ng JOC (Japan Olympic Committee) na nire-reimburse ng PSC every end of the year.
“Dapat bahay lang siya ng mga atleta, parang dorm. ‘Yung mga outsiders, dapat wala doon especially ‘yung walang kinalaman sa training,” said Angelica.

“Siyempre, mahirap ‘yun. Puro lalake eh na anything na mapatingin or something. Actually, ‘yun din sabi ni coach Mune na baka mapatingin sa puwet dahil nakakalat, maging masama ‘yung bata. At alam ko, Christian talaga sila ‘yung papa ni Miguel kaya hindi niya iallow ‘yun,” said Angelica.
Angelica said she believes San Jose is taking Yulo away from his family.
“Nung una, medyo okay kasi tumatawag tawag siya (Chloe) dito… Feeling ko, nilalayo sa amin si Caloy na, oo alam ko gusto niya makasama si Caloy, pero pamilya kami, matagal din naman siyang hindi nakasama because of the pandemic,” said Angelica.
In the same interview, Angelica also denied at length allegations against her in relation to his son's money. There were earlier reports that the mother had used the money to buy a house and other items, which she has denied.

Meanwhile, San Jose reacted to Angelica’s allegations but promised to wait until after Yulo concluded his Paris campaign in the vault finals on Sunday before speaking out.
“Mother dear, I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this. Pero wait ka lang, tapusin lang po namin ‘yung vault finals – paki-on na your comment section po ah, hindi ‘yung nag-dedelete ka pa + off com sec.
“Japan pa din talaga. Lakas. But malakas din naman si Carlos Edriel Yulo. God is with him,” said San Jose.
With comments like these, it seems more time and patience will be needed if the plan is to patch up things between Carlos and his girlfriend and the gymnast's mother.
