FOR the first time in more than a decade, no swoosh logos were seen on the Gilas Pilipinas jerseys.
That was the look of both the Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women and its U23 team when it took the court on Saturday at Manila Hustle 3x3 Season 3.
It was the national team’s first taste of action since the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced the end of its longstanding partnership with Nike at the end of 2024.

But despite the changes, the influence of the past iterations of the national team still lingers.
Both the seniors and u-23 3x3 teams wore minimalistic blue and white jerseys, much like what the Gilas teams wore most famously during the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China.
The difference, aside from the absence of the Nike swoosh, was the side panels with the only accent on the jersey being on the neckline.
Only the Smart logo in front and the Strong Group Athletics logo on the back were seen adorning these new jerseys.
The SBP has yet to announce the new official outfitter, although the federation said that “all Gilas teams will continue to be fully equipped for their upcoming local and international tournaments. Athletes will receive high-quality on-court and off-court apparel, compliant with tournament regulations, to perform at the top level.”
Spin.ph sources, however, said that this may take into effect midway through the year.
So, will this be the new look for Gilas especially with the February window of the 2025 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers just around the corner.
We’ll see.
