KAYA FC-Iloilo became the first club-based team to capture the PFF Women’s League crown after beating Manila Digger FC, 1-0, on Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Substitute Sheen Nicole Ramores scored in the 86th minute for the lone goal after several Kaya FC scoring chances were denied by Manila Digger goalkeeper Ayishatu Simpson.

Ramores knocked in the goal after a shot by Sara Castaneda was blocked by a Manila Digger defender inside the box.
Ramores atoned for a missed spot kick by Cam Rodriguez after it was saved by Simpson in the 53rd minute.
Manila Digger put on a gallant stand after it went down to 10 players following the second yellow card of Hannah Pachejo.
“I’m happy for Kaya, it’s another historic achievement for the club,” said Kaya coach Let Dimzon. “We’re the first club to win the PFF Women’s League and it is a huge honor for us to get this title.”

Filipinas team captain Hali Long also capped the year with a local title after competing in the Fifa Women’s World Cup and the Asian Games.
World Cup reserve Inna Palacios also kept a clean sheet in the final for Kaya FC.
Far Eastern University beat La Salle, 2-1, in the battle for third.
Kaya’s Shelah Cadag, who scored 12 goals this season, was named as the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
“All our hard work and sacrifice paid off with this win,” said Cadag. “We did our best and we thank everyone who supported us. It was a good game because we fought hard until the end.”
Simpson claimed the league’s best goalkeeper plum.
FEU’s Jonela Albiño was adjudged as the league’s best defender, while Kaya’s Charisa Lemoran was named as the Best Midfielder.
La Salle’s Angelica Teves and Tuloy FC’s Isabella Bandoja were jointly awarded as the league’s top scorers with 19 goals this season.
