THE RECENT MLBB esports scene saw the emergence of prestigious esports organizations entering the battlefield, forging partnerships with some of the most renowned contenders.
For instance, Saudi Arabia's Team Falcons merged with AP.Bren which led to Falcons AP.Bren, then there's Fnatic who decided to forge an alliance with ONIC, leading to Fnatic ONIC PH and Fnatic ONIC ID.
However there are organizations that decided to make the bold move of fully acquiring the organization, most notably Team Liquid who decided to take over Aura ID and ECHO PH.
And with the recent changes happening in the Esports World Cup (EWC) rules and regulations, perhaps we could see a drastic shift in the MLBB esports scene where prestigious orgs will be taking over.
According to the new rules of the EWC, "Joint ventures, meaning the collaboration between two distinct esports organizations to field a game roster, will not contribute to the collection of Club Championship points in 2025."
"In order to have their game rosters contribute to the Club Championship, Clubs will be required to have an aligned Club name throughout all games and the Club Championship."
Given these changes, what does this mean? Perhaps this is a sign that Team Falcons will fully attain the rights to AP.Bren or maybe they could aim for another org.
A source by the name of hesketh2 hinted that Team Falcons could be taking over RSG Philippines' slot in the Philippines. Then it was also highlighted that they could be acquiring the current roster of AP.Bren, leaving the Beehive without any player.
Wait does this mean that RSG PH will disband?

Now given this new ruleset, perhaps we could see other major esports orgs entering the Land of Dawn. Can you imagine T1, G2 Esports, Alliance entering MPL Philippines?
However there are rules that indicate that MOONTON may have a say on this, which could suggest that things will remain as is.
"Joint ventures that are not intended to contribute points to the Club Championship, are only allowed if the respective game rulebook permits them."
"EWCF may approve limited exemptions, i.e. to comply with publisher requirements. More detailed regulations will be published in the upcoming weeks on esportsworldcup.com"
