SPIN.ph, the go-to digital platform for sports and esports enthusiasts in the country, bagged a major award during the 2023 PH Esports Awards.
SPIN.ph writers honored
Six esports journalists from the Philippines were nominated for the Journalist of the Year award, and while many expected only one winner, two winners were picked.
Both writers hail from SPIN.ph, namely Carlos Pineda and the website's former features editor, Mario Alvaro 'Abo' Limos.

When asked why the committee opted to select two winners, here's what one of the panelists has to say.
"One of the main reasons for the co-winners for this year's journalist of the year was that both Carlos and Abo were part of the same organization and their content was complimentary of one another," they revealed.
They further elaborated: "Abo (Mario) mostly focuses on human element stories, while Carlos was all about the hard news and the nitty-gritty storytelling of investigative journalism, and covering angles that not everyone wants to cover or put a spot on."
SPIN.ph honored at M5
This wasn't the first time that SPIN.ph garnered awards in PH Esports as they were also included in the M5 World Championship's Greatest Media award.
While these two writers have made a significant contribution to the PH esports scene, the awards were dominated AP.Bren who had six trophies.
