THE REMATCH of the MSC 2022 Lower Bracket Finals took place in the MPL Invitational 2022 as both RSG Philippines and Omega Esports went head-to-head on the opening day of the Mobile Legends series.
Both teams utilized their reserve players. Omega opted to go for Mico “Mikko” Tabangay and Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Fernandez, while RSG selected John “1rrad” Tuazon, Clarense “Kousei” Jay Camilo, and Dexter “Exort” Martinez.
While both Kielvj and Mikko have proven their prowess in Season 10, Omega ended up outclassed against RSG's 2-0 drubbing.
With their victory, the Raiders will face either Indonesia's Alter Ego or Rebellion Zion.
How RSG dissected Omega Esports
With the new patch update, RSG revealed some key selections that helped them in Game 1.
The Martis pick from 1rrad was key for The Raiders as it allowed them to slow down Omega’s aggression in teamfights. Paired with Exort’s stolen Cult Altar ability, RSG could further sustain and limit their foes.
But the big difference was Nathzz. With his Paquito, Nathzz was able to cut lanes and even serve as a zonal presence against the likes of Duane “Kelra” Pillas and Renz Errol “Renzio” Cadua.
Ultimately, these factors limited Barangay Omega in Game 1, giving RSG a comfortable 1-0 lead.
And their momentum carried on in Game 2. 1rrad’s Martis once again stomped any opportunities from Omega. And to make matters worse, Nathzz would serve as a massive distraction, only this time with his Benedetta.
It was difficult for Omega to engage, especially with the pure damage from Kousei's Lesley and the potential threat from Dylan "Light" Catipon's Kadita.
Mikko was also visibly struggling to find the perfect Atlas setup as the Raiders were able to read through his movements.
There was nothing Omega could do as RSG completely breezed past their rivals in a 2-0 win.
As RSG advances to the next round, the other Filipino representatives has mixed results. Coach John Michael "Zico" Dizon and Jhonwin "Hesa" Vergara from Burn x Flash were eliminated by Malaysia's Orange Esports.
Meanwhile, Geek Fam's Allen Jedric "Baloyskie" Baloy and Jaymark "Janaaqt" Lazaro grinded their way to a 2-1 win against RRQ's MDL team.
