THE MPL OFFSEASON isn't just a period where teams would just think about potential roster moves as it is also a period where players can finally showcase the reaps of their education.

Given what they've accomplished, these players proved that balancing a career as a professional esports athlete and a student is possible, though it requires a huge degree of time management.

Last year saw the likes of Dean Christian "Raizen" Samagui and Kent Xavier "Kevier" Lopez being recognized for their educational accomplishments.

This year saw the following players being praised for their overall efforts.

Yawi graduates from senior high school at Mapua University

    Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera

ECHO PH roamer Yawi was able to graduate from senior high school in Mapua University, finishing the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand.

Initially his mother was hesitant to push him to esports due to the concerns of Yawi abandoning his education.

But Yawi managed to prove that the student and gaming life can be balanced, heck Yawi even went as far as managing his own business while grinding his way to become an MPL champ.

    Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno

But it wasn't just Yawi who was lauded for his efforts in balancing esports and studying as his teammate KarlTzy was revealed to have received his diploma in a post from Karina Nepomuceno which was then revealed by the MPL Philippines.

As KarlTzy was busy studying, 2023 became the year where he experienced a rejuvenation with an M4 World Championship and MPL PH Season 11 victory, with fans hailing him as the GOAT. Perhaps this achievement would further increase his GOAT popularity in the community.

    Allan "Lusty" Castromayor

While both KarlTzy and Yawi are still in their prime years, former Bren Esports icon Lusty is already on his twilight years. And given that his playing career could reach its end, it was time for Lusty to finish what he started.

Lusty shared his mother's Facebook post where she is proud of what her son has accomplished.

In her post she said: "It’s better late than never daw. Inuna mo kasi ang paglaro ng Mobile Legends, pero ok na rin dahil pinatunayan mo na may nakamit ka na medalya at trophy: 2x Philippine (MPL) Champion, SEA Games Gold medalist at World Champion so proud of you at may bonus pa may Allyana ka na.

"Anyways, Bords you made it. Naka-move up ka din, nandito lang ako always, naka suporta, I love you."

Based on Lusty's journey, reaching the finish line is what truly matters and we could see former MPL players who are on their twilight years, pursue their studies.

    Ian Jakob "Rindo" Seguiran

Then there's Blacklist Academy's Rindo who posted about the diploma and the Academic Excellence awards he garnered as he graduated Senior High School in Del Pilar Academy in Imus, Cavite.

Currently Rindo is viewed as an up-and-coming player in the MLBB scene who could potentially take over Danerie James "Wise" Del Rosario, if he decides to take a leave or hang his boots.

And perhaps we might see more from our MLBB heroes and icons as the seasons pass.
